Artist Statement
My artistic practice originates in photography, whether analog or digital, laying the groundwork for a physical reflection of concepts. My intuitive process involves alternating between various aspects of a work, engaging simultaneously with mixed media—creating soundscapes, editing performances, and building structures. This organic approach allows me to immerse myself in the creative process fully. I value pauses after capturing performances or creating new soundscapes, letting ideas ruminate and later enhancing them with fresh perspectives. Art, for me, is a compulsion to mirror today’s world and human experience. Politically motivated, my work explores themes of repression, sexuality, desire, and obsession, often drawing on my Russian heritage for visual and acoustic symbolism.
